Timelessly perfect with a dash of sparkle, it’s the recipe for the prettiest of parties. And one look at this gallery, and you’ll agree that this chic Chicago soiree at the Chicago History Museum should be tucked aways with all of our favorite classic affairs. It’s all parts elegant with the perfect mix of family tradition, and it’s all waiting for you right here.

From Artisan EventsBeautiful, summer, downtown Chicago wedding at the Chicago History Museum. Super soft color palette and just right amount of sparkle.

From the Bride…Although Cole and I are from Indiana and Ohio, we met and fell in love in Chicago and it felt natural to have our wedding in this amazing city. I had always wanted a backyard wedding but being that we live in a condo and none of our family lives in Chicago it didnt seem likely to happen. We looked at many beautiful venues  but knew The Chicago History Museum was the perfect spot for us all along. The museum is located two blocks from where we live and we walk past it everyday so it still had a bit of that backyard feel to us. Having our ceremony on the back patio facing Lincoln Park, where we spend so much of our time, felt like the perfect way to celebrate our union and start the rest of our lives together.

Like almost every other engaged couple, we wanted our wedding to be a reflection of us and to host a party  for our family and friends to really kick back and enjoy! ! The day had a very classic feel while incorporating meaningful family traditions. The elaborate homemade italian cookie table and Cole’s uncle serenating us with an Italian Sinatra love song over dinner were special touches. We also decided to include a small table to display the wedding pictures of our parents and grandparents, who have almost 300 years of marriage among them, to honor the legacy that brought us to this point and to emphasize that this day was the beginning of a bond that would last forever.  Losing my grandmother and grandfather just months before our wedding and their 70th wedding anniversary was the catalyst for featuring these special photos. Our moms are very crafty and loved pitching in to help.  My mom made the wedding favor bags for the homemade cookies and hotel welcome gift bags and Cole’s mom made the programs and menus.

We worked with OUTSTANDING vendors and focused on letting them do what they do best so that we could really just enjoy the day. Having all of our family and friends together was an absolutely incredible experience and one we’ll never forget. It was so special and humbling to be surrounded by so much love and support. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day and will be forever grateful for all of the memories made!
