Virginia Backyard Wedding from Ritzy Bee Events

Though these images by Jennifer Hughes may look like stills of a movie or the decor and details by Ritzy Bee Events something out of a fairytale, I promise you this is 100% real and crazy gorgeous at that.  A real life stunning Bride marrying her real life love in this Virginia backyard and a whole slew of cute littles to help with the celebration. See so much right here.

From Ritzy Bee EventsWe worked to create an all sensory experience for their guests while staying true to traditional values and keeping in mind that for our client, family came first. Sense of place was important to our design process so that details felt like an extension of their beautiful home and property. The Bride loves pink + big satin bows almost as much as Bretton! We toned down the color and used pink bow accents wherever we needed just a little something extra! Kara’s dress featured her married monogram custom created and embroidered on the back of the pink bow that highlighted her gown and became her train.  For a bit of fun, the bride’s sister’s drove to and from the church in their shared high school car – a pink VW bug! Our clients wanted to keep the wedding as local as possible enlisting the help of family friends and community event professionals.  The bridal bouquets came from the local flower shop while the reception decor was produced by the family’s gardener. The dance floor was hand-laid by the Skyline team to evoke the feeling of an heirloom wood floor from a historic Middleburg home. Natural loose-weave linens were produced in soft whites + taupes and laundered to feel as if they came right from the home’s linen closet. The bride’s rescue Frenchie, Louis, made an appearance at the reception donning a classic black bow tie. We featured his distinctive silhouette later in the evening on M&M’s (Kara’s favorite) – a fun surprise ice cream sundae topping. The incredible Maggie Austin Cake, was commissioned to create the gorgeous greige-colored confection. The cake itself was the Davis Family Spice Cake recipe – a flavor that has been (and will be) served at every family celebration since Kara was a little girl. The celebration ended with a classic send off of a fireworks display and a twinkling sparkler send-off.
