Perth Wedding from David Campbell Imagery

It’s hard to imagine loving Australia more than I already do (which, let’s face it, is a LOT), but every day here on SMP, I find a new reason tugging at my heart strings.  Today’s beyond lovely culprit?  A darling Perth affair from David Campbell Imagery which may just be the greatest combination ever of a totally stylish duo, sweeter than sweet details and a breathtaking winery setting.  (Here’s looking at you, Black Swan Winery and Restaurant.)  Oh, and if you are a lover of devastatingly gorgeous teal blue hues, then there’s those, too.  See all of the pretty in the full gallery.

From the Bride… We had around a year to plan our wedding and decided that a cocktail reception would suit us best.  We began with looking at venues and ended up going with our first option as we felt it had a lovely and homey feel with the old wine barrels as bar tables and the vineyard and grassed area out the back. Guildford Grammar Chapel was always where we intended to have our ceremony as my husband went to school there and it was just an added bonus that it’s arguable the most beautiful chapel in WA. All the other aspects of our wedding were planned by myself with the help from my husband.  Next after the ceremony and reception venue was secured was of course the dress!  After trying on every style possible I found my favourite and after that all the other details and aspects of the wedding just fell into place.

The day began with myself getting ready at our parent’s house with my bridesmaids and mother. We had vintage cars to collect us and take us to the ceremony. Our celebrant was Reverend Ross Jones who made our ceremony very special and gifted us with a red rose in a pot to signify our marriage together which was a lovely touch. After our ceremony we had photos on the school grounds and around Guildford. Then it was off to the reception venue for more photos in the vineyard and pre-dinner drinks and appetizers for the bridal party. Our guests arrived at 7pm and began with bridal party introduction and everyone got to mingling and enjoying themselves. Dinner was served as cocktail style and gourmet dinner boxes that guests could hold easily as they moved around. At 8pm we held the cutting of the cake which was to the song “Hold My Hand” by The Beatles and immediately followed by our first dance which was to “Come to me” by Jonny Diesel. Then we had speeches and cake was served which meant all of the formalities were over and guests and most importantly us as bride and groom could enjoy the evening.

At the end of the evening guests made an arch with their hands which we walked through, giving thanks and hugs as we passed. We stayed at the Vines Resort and Spa that evening and honeymooned in 5 star luxury in Seminyak Bali.
