We have an affinity for a great Cape Cod wedding; not only because the Cape is a mere hop, skip and a jump away from our home base but even more so because it’s a magical little spot on the East Coast. A mix of grand New England tradition and adorable small town flavor and this wedding held at Wequassett Resort is made even sweeter because of who is behind it. It’s a mashup of vendors we love (crafting genius Jacin of lovely little details and photography mavin Stacey Hedman) and a blogger we can’t seem to get enough of (Erika of radiant republic). When you throw those ingredients together and a girl that can rock glittery heels in the sand, it makes for a stunning display of wedding imagery. See it all right here.
From Jacin of lovely little details… I’m SO excited to send this one your way, it’s probably my favorite wedding of the year. The Bride is the gorgeous voice behind the fashion + lifestyle blog, radiant republic and she is also one of the sweetest people on the planet. I flew across the country with flowers in tow for their quintessential cape cod wedding and my New England heart was in heaven. Some Fun Facts: I went to a local cranberry bog to get cranberries to use in the boutonnieres and some of the floral arrangements, the Bride wanted a Kate Spade-esque feel so I found a gilded nautical rope to tie her bouquet handle,I used nautical rope for the Groom’s boutonniere.
From the Bride… I had dreamed of our wedding long before our summer engagement, with visions of a robust orange and crisp navy palette punctuating an organic, seaside celebration. Having met and become engaged in Andrew’s hometown on Cape Cod, we knew we wanted to continue our love story there on our wedding day – and never looked further than the Wequassett Resort. The magical gardens and sweeping views of Chatham’s Pleasant Bay set the most enchanting backdrop for our day. And it was nothing short of a dream. Andrew and I also knew we wanted a personal celebration with our very closest family and friends. With eighty-five guests, we were thrilled to personalize our intimate celebration with sweet details, like the custom gilded surfboard escort cards Suite Paperie created as a nod to Andrew’s love of surfing. Some of my very favorite details were the rose-gold seashells and anenomes dotting the dining tables, which were dreamed up by Jacin of Lovely Little Details. And my bouquet… there are few words to do justice to the insane beauty of my bouquet. I cried the happiest tears (and I’m not a crier) when Jacin of Lovely Little Details brought it to me that morning. Each bridesmaid carried a her own unique bouquet, filled with orange and cream garden roses and dahlias, which popped against the navy silk, striped Anne Cramer skirts.
We were introduced to our guests as Mr. and Mrs. at our sunset cocktail hour, overlooking the bay. The amazing guitar duo, JA2M, played Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” while we danced our first married dance. Then, guests sipped Andrew’s beloved Planter’s Punch from navy striped straws until our classic New England feast of chowder, lobster and barbecue ribs commenced. Every last detail was captured by the inimitable Stacey Hedman, who intuitively snapped the most special, unanticipated moments. I am still in total awe of her brilliant photos and calming presence on our wedding day.
From the unexpected (I tripped on my dress during the recessional… oops!) to the sentimental (the excitement on my eleven-year-old sister’s face as Dani Wagener did her makeup), our day was exactly what we had dreamed: perfectly us. We are blessed-times-infinity to have the best friends and family who filled our day with an immeasurable amount of love. We are especially lucky to have had the most talented team (who I consider my friends) execute every last detail to make our dream day a reality. We could never have wished for a more blissful, love-filled, our-faces-hurt-from-smiling kind of day.
