From Caroline Tran Photography… Kelly & Daniel wanted a romantic wedding, but was worried about their venue, Skirball, looking too “cold” since it’s entirely concrete. Their wedding planner did a great job having their ceremony area fully draped with chandeliers, and we found the perfect little grassy patch with a tree for portraits.
From the Bride… The proposal took place in the Bahamas of September 2011, exactly a year before we got married. Daniel had strategically planned a week long cruise almost 9 months in advance for our 8th year anniversary, knowing that I always wanted to go somewhere tropical during the summer. On our 3rd night after dinner, he brought me out to the deck to watch the sun set and got down on one knee. I cried for hours that day. (Funny story-Before the proposal took place, Daniel carried the ring in his backpack but was so paranoid about losing it that he would carry his backpack everywhere he went including the beach, pool, restaurant, etc.)
I would have to say our personal vows and my dad’s speech were good touches to our wedding. I dont think I’ve ever cried so much, let alone seen Daniel cry so much! Daniel at first was completely against saying our individual vows because of stage fright, but after much convincing, he agreed to do it and it was so heartfelt and sincere! To this day, Daniel always thanks me for pushing him and I am so glad I did! Also, my dad’s speech was the best way to end such an emotional and joyful night. Not only did it melt my heart, but it moved the entire party to tears. It was perfect.
