San Luis Obispo Engagement Session from Danielle Capito Photography

Be prepared to fall hopelessly in love with this adorable couple and their sweet and sentimental picnic e-session. Not only did they get to dig through countless treasures of the bride-to-be’s grandmother’s to use as props for their shoot, they actually got engaged during on of their many picnics together. Danielle Capito Photography captured them in the most amazing way and you can see it all right here.

From the Bride… Josh and I met on a mission trip to China two summers ago, and we have been blessed with a wholesome relationship that is so sweetly supported by friends and family ever since! Even before we got engaged, I knew I wanted to do a “Vintage Picnic” styled shoot for our engagement pictures. One of our favorite traditions is getting Acai bowls from the local café Sally Loos and finding a patch of grass to lay down on and take a break from busy life. Josh even proposed while we were on a picnic because he knew how much I love them! The vintage inspiration began with the beautiful quilt that my mom gave to me, and many of the treasures came from a big box of my grandma’s things that she pulled out of the garage one day. It was so fun being able to go through my grandmother’s trinkets that are so precious to my mom and bring her such nostalgia. Every single piece she had a little memory about — for example, how she used to hold the yarn ball for her mom as it unraveled while she was knitting. It was a blessing to have been able to use such treasures! Little things like the picnic basket and record player came along the way and fell in place beautifully. I had followed Danielle’s blog for awhile after she shot a friend’s pictures back in July, and when I saw a wedding she did at the Holland Ranch, I was not only set on her being our photographer, but on taking our engagement shoots at that venue! Not many places offer beautiful mountain scenery and meadows, a windmill, horses, AND a lake and vintage boat! Scenes from The Notebook flashed through my mind as I imagined my dream engagement shoot happen at this magical venue. Danielle’s skill made it all come alive, and I couldn’t be happier with the pictures. Josh and I got to celebrate being engaged in our own little vintage dreamland!
