Gondola Holiday Wedding Shoot from Esther Sun Photography

I must admit that I have never thought of gondolas in the wedding realm but with this seaside shoot, they totally make sense. There is something incredibly romantic about  a gondola ride, just ask the Venetians. And with the blending of glittering holiday decor by At Your Door Events, this gorgeous spread is perfect for Christmas weddings and really any time of the year affairs. Sneak a peek at the full gallery shot by Esther Sun Photography and on the eve of this lovely holiday we are all wishing a merry, merry to you and yours. xoxo

From Sara Holland of At Your Door Events… Love is effervescent. The spirit of the holidays is – effervescent! That effervescence is very similar to the emotion that goes into the planning of a wedding. When I was concepting for this shoot, I wanted to ensure that the spirit of the season was reflected in the design. And as a result, this look could really work anytime of the year!

Here are 3 key design tips to help any bubbly bride as she embarks on her wedding design journey:

Design tip #1: Don’t be afraid to mix metals. So many brides go with either gold or silver, but rarely both. Blending a combination of metals adds depth to the design and sparkly texture. Love!

Design tip #2: Go with your gut. My favorite source of design inspiration comes from the downtown LA fabric district. I love getting lost in bolts of textiles and buckets of trims! While on my inspiration hunt for this particular shoot, I found a white jersey fabric with a gorgeous gold sequin graphic pattern on it. It reminded me of Christmas lights reflecting off of the water. I bought 1 yard and never looked back. That same graphic pattern was subtly used on the table linens, pillows, cake and stationary.

Design tip #3: Trust your creative team and allow them the freedom to create something special for you. When you go through the process of selecting the artisans that will work on your wedding – make sure you select individuals that you know will understand your point of view and translate that into something beautiful. Give them access to your Pinterest board, or give them a taste of your design inspiration. And then, let go. Something amazing will happen.
