Jackson Wedding Film from Nathan Willis Wedding Films

“Here’s to your first love being your last love.” How stinking cute is that? That is what one of the guests at this wedding wrote to the couple. They were wed in a sweet as can be soiree in Jackson, and our lovely LBBer Nathan Willis Wedding Films was there to capture the joy of the day in one of our favorite ways possible – with some extra fabulous wedding cinematography. So sit back and take it in this morning my loves, because it’s a good one.

Trotter and I were headed down to New Orleansthe Mardi Gras Marathon and my 30th birthday. All I wanted to do for my birthday was to go to Jackson Square to have coffee and beignets. So that morning we walked to Cafe Du Monde and enjoyed our breakfast. Afterward, we walked around the square and as we passed the Cathedral, Trotter lead me into the park to a bench. We sat down and just took in the morning. Trotter asked me, “Do you know what I want?” I said, “No what?” He then got down on his knee and said “I want you to marry me!” At that moment I couldn’t even see my ring through my waterfall of tears.

We decided to have the wedding at The South because we thought it was the best location to hold both the wedding and the reception. It is a beautiful old warehouse that was renovated with exposed bricks and beams. We are Christians and wanted a church wedding but realized you don’t have to be in a church for it to be religious because the good Lord would be with us wherever we were. Plus Wendy Putt is the caterer for The South so it was a pretty easy decision.

I wanted an elegantly vintage wedding. I sat down with my sister Kendall Poole, who was my wedding planner, and her assistant Emily and we brainstormed. We looked through magazines, websites, and, of course, Pintrest. Being honest, I was not a traditional bride. I asked my sister to take care of all the details. I wanted to focus more on my groom and our marriage. I had a few things I really wanted but left most of it up to my sister.
