Charleston Destination Wedding from Maria Hibbs Photography

We love Wedding Wednesdays.  That goes without saying.  And when we kick it all off with a stunning Charleston soiree, we love them even more.  Hence our complete and total excitement over this morning’s first affair, a crazy gorgeous Magnolia Plantation & Gardens wedding boasting pretty yellow hues, a stunning ceremony and one VERY romantic duo. (First date in Paris.  Enough said.)  Maria Hibbs Photography captured all of the lovely and you should definitely click here for so much more.

Oh, and we’re not done yet.  Check out this sweet film from Vanessa McKellar Productions for even more gorgeous inspiration.  And a few happy tears.

From Lori of Blue Planet Green Events… Colleen and Paul are the definition of world travelers, a couple who met overseas on work and had their first date in Paris, it was true romance from the start. It was no surprise that they would choose a destination wedding. Almost all of their guests traveled from outside of Charleston to attend their sweet ceremony.

The ambiance was inspired by the couple’s travels together. Guests were greeted at the “reception desk” and were asked to find their boarding pass which lead them to their “gate” where they would enjoy delicious eats from Crave International Catering. Crave put together an eclectic worldwide menu, from Mediterranean, to French cuisine, guests were so impressed. The tables were marked as “gates” where guests would find photos of Colleen and Paul’s travels to the particular destination. Tables were adorned with soft, romantic flower boxes designed by Blue Planet Green Events, all boxes were created by BPGE of reclaimed wood from old Charleston homes and 100% of the flowers were sourced locally, from Yuri Hanna Farms in Conway, South Carolina. Dinner was served at farm style tables, to create a family affair. Colleen hand painted mason jars with chalkboard paint for guests to claim as their own and to take home with them to toast to the night forever!

Leading up to their altar were vintage suitcases dressed with flowers. Colleen and Paul’s nuptials were the sweetest, encompassed by family and friends, the two exchanged vows under a Chuppah handmade by the groom’s Uncle Gary, who transported it to Charleston from his home in the North Carolina mountains. Cheers to Mr. + Mrs. Kraslinick!
