Blue Mountain Apple Orchard Wedding from Hristina Piltz

When I first laid eyes on this totally enchanting New South Wales Apple Orchard wedding, I was certain it was an inspiration shoot-the images from Hristina Piltz were so romantic, the location jaw-droppingly gorgeous and the bride + groom sweet as can be. Once I realized this pretty little number was the real deal, my heart skipped a beat. Friends and family DIY-ed almost every detail from the florals to the table runners. And the outcome? From the Bride… We got married in August 2012 on a cold but very sunny winters day in the Blue Mountain Region of New South Wales (just outside Sydney). We fell in love with the area when we discovered multiple apple orchards lining the main road and thought it would be lovely to have a picnic with our bridal party during the photos. The day was just a dream and had a woodsy feel scattered with many personal touches.

Chris and I are high school sweethearts. We met in our first year of high school when we forced to sit next to each other because our surnames came after each other alphabetically. It took Chris a whole year to convince me that he really did like me, and we started dating our second year of high school. Six years later, Chris proposed with a gorgeous handmade ring we designed together, and I very quickly said yes! Our friends and family were thrilled and so supporting throughout our five-month engagement. We wanted to keep the wedding budget-friendly and very personal. We kept it small with 80 guests and focused on reflecting our personalities with small details and special touches. I bought most the decorations on Etsy or made them myself. A friend helped me make hessian table runners and matching chair bows. We found a very cute custom cake topper, and all the flowers were done by a friend. Our photographer was another friend who has been taking photos of us for years, and we couldn’t have imagined having anyone else taking the photos. The whole day was very relaxed and fun, and we felt so comfortable having Tina take the photos.

I searched through many shops for my dress and was honestly a bit distressed by the poor quality and horrible materials used for dresses. When I finally walked into Savvy Brides in Double Bay, I knew immediately that I would find my dress. After trying five dresses, all of which I loved, I found THE dress for me — it made me feel like a bride, but it was still fun and young with hailspot tulle. I knew Chris would love it! It is by Jennifer Gifford from Brisbane, and it was so lovely to wear something created with such high quality. It fit so well I wanted to take it home straight away! I collected my jewelry from different jewelry shops, and both my engagement and our wedding rings were made by a local jeweler by hand. My shoes are custom made vegan ballet flats i purchased through Etsy. The bridesmaids dresses were from Forever New, and the flower girl’s leotard and tulle skirt were custom-made by family friends. The boys bought their suits online from ASOS, and every piece had so many compliments.

With the help of so many family and friends we managed to keep the wedding on budget, while having fun and very “us.” Our family and friends really enjoyed the intimate details, and I was amazed at how everything came together on the day. We will never forget the most amazing day of our lives.
