From the Bride… There were several very important elements in planning our wedding: food (which we decided on family style), friends and casual feeling. Because we have been together for 8 years and we have lived in LA and NYC, our friends have become our family. They are a very important part of our life and we wanted to share our special day with them. We handpicked 70 people to share the unforgettable weekend with us. Our main goal was to make sure everyone had a great time.
Since Anthony and I are both in creative industries, I’m a Fashion Stylist/Merchandiser and Anthony is a Creative Director in Advertising, we wanted to create and design the overall feel of our wedding. Anthony designed all of the Save the Dates, Invitations, Menus (with everyone’s name printed at the top), the gift bags and all the signs we used throughout the wedding. We wanted something original and completely us. My go-to blog was Style Me Pretty. I got so much inspiration from all the beautiful and modern weddings they featured.
To save money, I started collecting empty wine bottles and other glass containers. Anthony and I went to Home Depot, picked out the paint colors we wanted and spray painted the bottles we used for table decor. I loved how it turned out. One of the best decisions we made when planning was to have an open mic for speeches during dinner. After our wedding party gave their speeches, several friends and family members spoke. It was basically a comedy show, which you can see from the photos One Love captured. We could really feel the love and we will never forget how great we felt hearing all the stories.
