Oregon Vow Renewal from A & B Creative + Paige Jones Photography

For all of us married ladies around the office, Vow Renewals are our saving grace; the one thing we can hold onto and dream about planning as we sift through wedding upon gorgeous wedding. We plan and plan until we’ve planned ourselves into an entirely new style of renewal. From modern to glamorous and after one look at this doozy, we’re all set on whimsical. It makes sense this party is nothing short of fabulous seeing as how the main stars are the A and B behind A & B Creative. With the help of Paige Jones Photography they turned their Five Years of wedded bliss into a renewal celebration their friends and family could enjoy as well. See so much more in the full gallery.

And here’s a quick peak at their adorable Five year anniversary pics full of Portland whimsy and red ballooned shenanigans with even more in the full gallery below. Aren’t these two the cutest?!?

From the Bride… When Alex and I were married it was in an amazing old theater and the entire affair was Old Hollywood inspired. It was perfect for who we were then, but five years later we knew our vow renewal would be completely different. I’m a wedding designer and stylist, and together Alex and I have formed A & B Creative. Being in the industry we’re constantly surrounded by love and creative couples, and have the extreme pleasure of collaborating to create dream weddings. So, getting to plan our own fete again was a blast! While we wanted our party to look amazing, it was really the feel of it we focused the most on. We wanted our vow renewal to be special, thoughtful and above all else, “us.” We knew immediately that we wanted the venue to be special as well, we chose Alex’s parents’ house, which was where they got married (and Alex’s dad built it!) and that he grew up in. My God-father was our officiant and we wrote our own vows again, just as we had at our wedding.

Our attire was what we love most–vintage and vintage inspired pieces that you can cut a rug in! All of the food was significant to some part of our five years of marriage: smore’s cakes–a taste from the Pacific Crest Trail we hiked 200 miles of, Mary-Jane candies–an homage to the neighborhood we lived in LA, cookies we had on our honeymoon in Aruba and salt water taffy–a favorite when we take our siblings camping on the coast. The drinks and treats were no exception either–sangria we had enjoyed in Italy, fresh local bread (a Bay Area favorite), California olive oil, Shave Ice from Hawaii and the favors (and pinch pots) I made contained one of the best discoveries we made in France–French Sea Salt (I don’t know why, but yes, it is better than ours.)

Aside from our sea-salt favors, another one of my favorite crafts I made was the runners for our tables from basic Target tablecloths! I also loved the raffle we did as a guest book alternative. The raffle that won was going to New Zealand…and taking my little brother to Austin in the next five years! I am also totally obsessed with the vintage planter carts we turned gold and made into the glass holders at the drink stations! One of our favorite parts of the whole party was dancing the night away with my siblings, they were so much fun, and kept saying, “This is the best party we’ve EVER been to!” That, in both our eyes, was a success.
