It’s no secret that here in New England, we love our beach weddings. Some may think it’s because there are only a few precious months of great weather to be had, but I say it’s so much more than that. There’s something so super romatic about hearing the waves crash and letting the wind whip through your hair as you take your very first stroll as husband and wife. Need more proof? From the Bride… There was no question in our minds when it came down to choosing the location for our wedding; Watch Hill, Rhode Island had to be it. After spending many summers at my family’s summer home, we could not wait to host all of our favorite family and friends there. Crisp, summer colors were the obvious choice for us, so our palette was made up of cobalt blue, lime and bright white. These were carried throughout with bright lime bouquets, blue bow ties and white dinner jackets for the groomsmen, as well as a bright blue hydrangea bouquet for me. The ceremony was held in the quaint Watch Hill Chapel, whose wooden detail and interior feel like a boat. After the ceremony, guests descended down the hill for the reception held at the Beach Club. Towering flowers in deep blues, purples and lime dressed long narrow tables, ideal for great conversation! Fluttering white banners and a sail cloth tent for the band set the scene for a great night of dancing. Ultimately, it was our perfect seaside soiree.
