The romance of Autumn always gets me. The seemingly haphazard floating of the colorful leaves as they fall to the ground to make the most diverse medleys of oranges and yellows and reds and browns might just be the reason why I am so blown away by this wedding from Kristy Dickerson Photography. I am oh-so-enchanted by all of the amazing portraits of these two sweethearts seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day on the steps of Flint Hill, whispering sweet nothings while surrounded by the Autumn woods, and holding each other close on the railroad tracks. From the Bride... Having been together for seven years, Andrew and I always knew what type of wedding we wanted. Something small, intimate and cozy. The fall was always our FAVORITE time of year — leaves changing, cooler temperatures, the holidays. Being in northern Georgia, the leaves always tend to peak later than average, so we decided mid November would be the perfect time for our wedding! On the morning of our big day, we woke up to beautiful weather. Temperatures were in the mid 60s, and there was not a cloud in the sky. The colors of the fall leaves were gorgeous, just having peaked a week before, and they complemented our wedding palette perfectly!

Flint Hill could not have been a more perfect location for our fall wedding. It is a restored southern mansion, circa 1835, located in historic Norcross, Georgia, beautifully decorated and furnished, creating the perfect warm and romantic environment for our ceremony and reception. Because of the time change, we were able to sneak off across the street a few hours before the ceremony started to catch the last bit of daylight with our fabulous photographer, Kristy Dickerson. Railroad tracks, the sun setting, and seeing Andrew for the first time. It was perfect! The ceremony took place outdoors, with the temperature a very brisk 50 degrees! It felt like it came and went within a few seconds. As much as I tried to take it all in, it almost felt like a dream. The whole moment was a blur. I would not have changed a thing! After the ceremony, Andrew and I had our own intimate escape upstairs. One of my favorite moments of the night was that 30 minutes where we were able to be alone on our wedding night, to take everything in and enjoy our first meal together as husband and wife. I cannot explain to anyone in words how great our catering was that night! Everything was fantastic and only wish I had eaten more of it! For dessert, instead of a traditional wedding cake, we decided to go with a twist on the popular "cup" cakes. We did a Guinness Stout chocolate cake in tea cups, with toffee sauce, whipped cream and Heath bar crumbles. I probably ate three of them!

The night was perfect, and we could not have done it without the help of so many wonderful people. Our very good friend, Robert Cawthorne, was there as our cinematographer and captured our day beautifully, as well as the incredible staff at Flint Hill who made sure the day went by seamlessly. And to have such beautiful pictures taken by Kristy Dickerson, to look back on every year to remember our day — there is no better feeling! Andrew and I are so grateful to have had such wonderful friends and family there to share in our joy and could not have imagined a better day.
