From the Bride… This truly was the wedding of my dreams. The setting, lighting, flowers, my dress … all the elements came to life exactly as I’d pictured. I knew I wanted a waterfront location and decor with lots of color, texture and interest to wow our guests and create a unique and memorable event. We’re from Sydney and were nervous to plan a destination wedding in a remote part of Far North Queensland, thinking many guests wouldn’t be able to make the journey, but The Elandra resort in South Mission Beach took our breath away. We hoped our guests would be as excited as we were to share this experience. The resort is perched high on a hill looking out toward Dunk Island with Moroccan and East African decor, a poolside setting in lush tropical surrounds. Following the poolside ceremony, our 60 guests sipped chilled Prosecco on banana lounges gazing out over the Coral Sea. An intimate dinner in the open pavilion was followed by dancing under palm trees and stars — it was a magical night we will cherish forever.
