A ruffled pink dress and a love story that started before these two lovebirds were even born - that's enough to make me want to do a happy dance. More than enough. Add sweet DIY details, a dapper pup in a bow tie and a description from the Bride that made me laugh, cry and swoon all in a few paragraphs - and consider that happy dance done. It's all comes to life through the lens of Heather Curiel, and boy does that make for once gorgeous feature. See it all here!
Can't get enough of these two? Well we can't either - so here's their sweet film by Nostalgia Film...

From the Bride... Our mothers were best friends. His mom was a bridesmaid in my parents' wedding, and his parents were married one week later. His dad was in the Air Force and they moved away. We met as babies about 10 years later; our moms snapped some pictures (two of which I still have and cherish), and we did not meet again until we were seventeen. His parents moved home, and he finished high school in my home town. We became fast friends and started dating three years later. We dated through our twenties and were absolutely crazy about each other (and just crazy…) We lost his mom, my aunt and a best friend. We had times that forever shaped our lives. We spent days at the creek and nights driving dirt roads talking, laughing and listening to music. But try as we might, we could not make things work. We lost touch for three years. He moved to Houston. We lived our lives, and I missed him every day. I emailed him one day, and he responded back. We were on the phone minutes later and have not stopped talking since.

He proposed less than a year later and we started to plan the wedding. Fourteen years after meeting we were going to get married. We could have gone to city hall and it still would have been the best day of our lives. We wanted it to be “us.” We wanted the people closest to us there. We wanted them to be comfortable and have fun. Getting married on the lake was Jake’s idea, and I thought it was perfect. My dad and Jake built the benches for the ceremony site. All of the men who live down by the lake would go down in the evenings and mow and water to make sure the site looked pretty for the wedding day. It was so touching to have so many people care. My dad was so involved and helpful; we could not have pulled off the day without him. We were living in Houston when we started planning the wedding, and my dad found the site for the reception. It is such a beautiful place and the owners are a joy to work with.

I wanted the day to feel dreamy, and I thought that paper flowers swaying from the trees would be a fantastic idea. My mom and future sister-in-law were skeptical, but they helped me make tons of strands of paper flowers. There I was on the day of the wedding, looking a hot mess, hours before the ceremony, on top of my car hanging flowers from trees. I see the beautiful pictures Heather and Nostalgia Film took, and that was a project that was totally worth every hour spent. The flowers were a labor of love. I prepared all of the flowers, put together all of the arrangements for the reception, bouquets, boutonnieres, and baby's breath at the ceremony site. My maid of honor and friend helped me to get the reception site ready. All of our friends and family were so helpful and happy for us.

The day was just a dream. We see the way Heather and Shanna and Mike captured it and are just in disbelief. They are the best! Please. Call. Them. We are so thrilled to be married, and that day was truly the best day of our lives. We had the people who love us the most surrounding us and we were getting married. One of our best, life-long friends married us. I got to marry my very best friend and we have beautiful memories to have forever. Does it get any better?
