Harrison Mills Wedding from Melissa Gidney Photography

Hi, my name is Holly and I’m addicted to this wedding. Every single moment captured by the lens of Melissa Gidney Photography has enraptured me heart and soul and I have spent a longer time in this gallery than I care to admit. And, I’ll probably be coming back to this one quite a few more times in the future. So get your pinning buttons out, lovelies, because this is one of those that you are going to want to remember. That Paloma Blanca dress and the to-die-for wavy locks on this Bride are reason enough to not waste a moment longer and get right to the gallery here.

From Melissa Gidney PhotographySurrounded by a centuries-old forest on the Harrison River, the grand, English manor house at Rowena’s Inn on the River was perfect for Katie and Bryan’s elegant wedding. After the ceremony, guests were served cocktails and canapés while mingling and playing croquet. The reception was held at the famous Sandpiper Golf Resort, looking out on the blue-green waters of the river.

It was important for the couple to incorporate the memory of Bryan’s father into the day –  the initial inspiration for the wedding came from the rustic cabin that was left to Bryan and his brothers in Tulameen, British Columbia. Loving everything about the ’20s (including their home that was built in 1921), the couple carried the rustic, vintage theme carried over to the tables, which featured white frogs (Bryan’s father collected frog figurines) and wooden lily pads cut from a tree on the Tulameen property. Katie grew up watching her mother can everything from peaches, pickles and onions to every jam possible, so mason jars from her mother’s personal collection became the perfect starting point for their centerpieces and favors of homemade peach and strawberry jam. Sticking with the vintage feel, Katie’s Paloma Blanca dress was classic and elegant and matched beautifully with her grandmother’s veil and pearl necklace. Katie has a slight obsession with anything and everything Burberry, and therefore it seemed only suiting as the choice for the gentlemen’s ties. Being a shoe girl, the one exception for some modern bling was a pair of sparkly Christian Louboutins. The buttery yellow bridesmaids dresses were custom-made by the mother of the bride, and all of the desserts, including the cake, were made by Katie’s cousin, aunt, grandmother and mother. The day truly was a family collaboration.
