From Ang Weddings and EventsKevin came across the Andaz 5th Avenue Hotel in an architectural magazine he was reading, and upon viewing it, they knew that it was the perfect place to get married. Not only was it a boutique hotel with stunning views of the New York Public Library, but it also made perfect sense because it was right by Bryant Park, where Samantha and Kevin had their first date.

Their ceremony took place in the library, where we used the bookcase as the ceremony backdrop. Jessie from Rountee Flowers brought the room to life with lush English ivy, ferns, jasmine vine, white lattice lanterns, pedestal candles and votives on the shelves. She styled it using some pieces from the hotel’s collection and framed family photographs from Samantha and Kevin. During the ceremony recessional, their guests popped wedding party poppers as the couple joyfully made their way back down the aisle. Cocktails took place in the open kitchen. For all the New Yorkers who love their food, it was a real treat to watch chef in action! Dinner commenced in a long room with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the New York Public Library. Rountree Flowers used a silver lattice custom runner along the dark wooden tables and created textural floral arrangements with deep red dahlias, vanda orchids, black beauty roses, dusty miller, grey brunia and touches of seeded eucalyptus. Samantha found little red “double happiness” boxes in Taiwan and filled these with Lindt chocolates for their wedding favors. The huge kitchen counters were covered with platters of delicious food for dinner, followed by a delectable dessert bar and, to top it off, wedding cake. It was an intimate celebration with just 69 of their closest family and friends.
