Staten Island Wedding from Carmen Santorelli Photography

Dear adorably sweet and happy newlywed couple: Your wedding rocked. Sure I wasn’t there in person to see the impressive Flowers By Bernard , jaw dropping La Sposa dress and every fabulous handmade detail created by the talented you. But based off of these memorable moments captured by Carmen Santorelli Photography, I 100% love your wedding day. And let’s not forget the 15 Minutes of Frame highlight reel {sigh!}. From the Bride… Three words sum up my vision for the wedding: soft, classic and romantic. I tried to apply those defining characteristics to every part of the wedding, starting early on with the beautiful letterpress invitations from Bella Figura and carried through to the floral china at the reception. It was important to me to have a lot of personal touches and homegrown elements throughout the day. A crafter at heart, I made the ceremony programs, lace handkerchiefs, wedding wands and signature drink straws, all with some gracious help from my family. We lovingly named our reception tables after places we have traveled together, and we mixed square and round table shapes to give the ballroom some added energy and movement. A combination of high and low centerpieces, along with beautiful linens and lots of candlelight, further transformed the venue into an enchanting space.

For my dress, I was immediately sold on the long, lace train of the LaSposa “Denia” dress, which I matched with a lace jacket purchased separately on Etsy. I loved the classic look of the dress, which had just a twist of contemporary styling. The finishing touches were my mother’s cascading fountain veil and my great-grandmother’s brooch, which was pinned to my bouquet. The guys all wore Black by Vera Wang tuxes from the Men’s Wearhouse, and my bridesmaids wore beautiful flowing gowns in a dusty rose color. My stand-out sister and maid of honor wore the same dress in an eggplant shade.

I spent countless hours scouring inspiration boards on Pinterest and finding the perfect vendors that would help us achieve our design aesthetic. Carmen Santorelli’s photos artfully captured our wedding, which I’m delighted to share on SMP!
