For the first time in my life, I’m speechless. There aren’t enough words in the thesaurus that fall under “stunning, chic and original” to quite explain the charisma that this celebration by Scout & Charm holds. You know those couple’s that no matter what they do, they give off an aura of coolness? This is one of them! Speaking of cool, how adorable is The Old Church and Go Go Snap invites!? From Scout & Charm… When Kay first came to us over a year ago and requested we style her wedding, she came to us with a clear idea of exactly what she was after. She knew her color scheme, her theme, even details of all the finer elements such as what the centerpieces were to look like. She was the most organized bride we had ever worked with, and it was a total breath of fresh air working alongside her. It was an absolute privilege to hear her creative ideas and witness all of her wedding dreams come to life. She had some amazing ideas, and Renee and I were just so excited to begin working on this wedding and made it our absolute mission to give Kay everything she had dreamed of and more.
Both the wedding ceremony and reception were based at The Old Church on the very picturesque Mount Tamborine in Queensland, Australia. The Old Church is such a charming and quaint location (not to mention has such welcoming and friendly staff and service!) and is equipped with its very own, very sweet, non-denominational chapel. Kay chose to have her ceremony in the chapel, which was the perfect backdrop and needed very little in terms of styling. We decided to keep it fairly simple by opting for small bunches of baby’s breath on end of each pew and a small floral arrangement up front. We also had a gorgeous vintage dresser out the front that offered guests some old-fashioned lemonade out of a drink dispenser, personalized bottles of Fiji water (an ode to the bride and grooms honeymoon location!) and some love heart mints. The bride looked absolutely stunning in vintage lace gown and navy Miu Miu heels. Her bridesmaids matched her theme of vintage; each wore a very feminine lace dresse in pale blue, all collected separately from vintage stores. It all just went so well together — a great eclectic mix of retro meets classic, vintage elegance.
Once the ceremony was finished, guests were ushered to the courtyard for celebration drinks. It was here they were met with beautifully manicured gardens, a scene of mismatched garden tables and chairs all adorned with hand-decorated jars filled with baby’s breath and littered with fairy lights and tea light candles. Kay had also organized for a piano accordion player to walk around and entertain her guests as they enjoyed their beverages. The most exciting feature of the wedding was also displayed out here: the vintage teaspoon seating chart! Each guest received their very own vintage teaspoon, which was hand stamped with their name and table number. It was just such a unique touch and took all the guests by complete surprise. Once inside the restaurant, guests were met with a whimsical and romantic vibe. Everywhere you looked there was detail, from the lace curtains draping the entrances to the vintage doily buntings that were strung through the ceiling. Guests were seated at tables dressed with vintage doily table runners; custom-cut wooden rounds adorned with gorgeous, moss-filled terrariums; mismatched bottles; and amber and crystal vases filled with gorgeous blooms in colors of white and blue with small pops of red. The place sittings were another example of the gorgeous personal detail seen throughout the day. Guests received their very own vintage salt and pepper shakers, which had been collected by Kay in the year leading up to her wedding. Each set also doubled up as a place setting as a hand-stamped kraft tag with each guest’s name was attached to it. These sat on menus that had been hand-printed on paper doilies.
