From Maru Photography… Bonnie and Matt’s elegant seaside wedding at the spectactular Rockwater Secret Cove Resort on August 18 of this year was awash in dreamy shades of watery blue, driftwood silver and butter yellow, all set against a delicate pink sky. There were so many beautiful details, it’s hard to know where to begin, but the bride’s gorgeous Christian Louboutins and beautiful Amsale Celine gown are a good place to start! The resort is best known for its collection of luxury yurt accommodations set ocean-side among the arbutus forest and accessible through a network of raised boardwalks. It’s simply stunning!
From the Bride… Living here in British Columbia, my friends and I love spending summers on the Sunshine Coast. With its close proximity to Vancouver, it’s the perfect quick getaway for a busy schedule! So when Matt proposed and it was time to start wedding planning, I knew the coast, with its natural beauty, would be the choice of location. Inspiration in planning began with the calming nature of the coast — we wanted our day to be relaxing, carefree and fun for everyone. It was important to both our families to incorporate our Chinese heritage into the wedding day, so we brought in the traditional Chinese tea ceremony — starting with the amusing bridal door games and concluding with a seaside ceremony of serving tea to our families and receiving blessings in return.
While designing the look and feel of our wedding, I was inspired by the amazing posts I saw on Pinterest and wedding blogs such as SMP. Our favors were all put together by friends and me, and circles of fabric were cut, ribbons were tied and jars were filled all with the amazing help of our friends. The Mr & Mrs letters were a labor of love by our adorable groomsmen and touched up by my beautiful bridesmaid. On the day of the wedding, the look of our wedding was brought to life by the staff of Coastal Weddings.
