From Tinsel & Twine… The bride and groom, Natasha Uspensky and Jonathan Parkhideh, had such a wonderful vision for their big day: a gorgeous, glamorous “Great Gatsby” theme. (They had started planning this glamorous lawn party, in fact, before they were officially engaged!) Their summertime ceremony and reception took place at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion in Old Westbury, New York. Its marble and mosaic foyer and sweeping landscape offered the perfect backdrop to their sophisticated soiree. My team at Tinsel & Twine was responsible for all aspects of the event’s decor — bouquets, florals, custom paper goods, lighting and props. Key floral design elements included lush garden roses, white lithianthus, succulents, speckled feathers and ostrich plumes, all held in textured, mercury glass vessels. Long tables and fireplace mantles were further adorned with tapered and pillared candles. Paper goods were all designed in gray and blush tones with classic art deco elements such as scalloped patterns and strong typography. The long tables with varying heights and textures created an opulent, yet accessible look and feel.
