From Moving PresentationsNiki, Brendan, their families and friends pulled together to create the most beautiful, vintage-inspired wedding both Moving Presentations and Beautiful Moments Photography have captured. They selected Summerlees in Sutton Forest as the location for their wedding reception and accommodation and St. Patrick’s Church as the ceremony location. We were in heaven — the Southern Highlands area of Australia is one of our favorite wedding locations because it is so picturesque and bathed in stunning light. We instantly fell in love with the location, the people and the rustic charm of the buildings and gardens. Family are very important to both Niki and Brendan, and that showed on the day with Brendan’s brothers and brother-in-law in the bridal party, his nieces as flower girls and Niki’s sister as one of the bridesmaids. When Niki told us that her 99-year-old grandmother was going to be at the wedding, we had no idea how sprightly and adorable she would be. Her presence truly brought the love to a whole new level. We were inspired to see how amazingly youthful this lovely treasure of a woman was.  During the speeches, it was revealed that Niki’s grandmother had supplied the diamond which now sits in Niki’s engagement ring, and we love the sentimentality of that.

An afternoon game of cricket and bocce was in order for the guests on the lawn, while the bride and groom enjoyed time together in the beautiful surrounds of Summerlees. The  guests were treated to a classic 1950’s garden party with champagne complemented by salmon and avocado mousse creations by celebrity chef Darren Robertson. The guests were entertained by Slide McBride’s retro jazz tunes playing as the sun went down. Niki and Brendan’s wedding reception was fantastic. The converted barn at Summerlees was perfect for a vintage-inspired reception as it has an elegant but rustic charm, which set the tone for the evening. Two long banquet tables sat in the middle of the room and created a wonderful communal atmosphere for all the guests. The venue was filled with flowers and vintage details that the couple found hidden in various antique stores or discovered on Etsy. Many of the decorations were handmade by the couple, including blackboards used for table place cards. Niki and Brendan did their choreographed first dance under the glistening chandelier, but the highlight of the evening was the beautiful rendition of “Songbird” that Niki sang to Brendan. When she concluded there was barely a dry eye in the house. It was one of our favorite wedding moments ever.
