From the Bride… Ever since Clint and I met over 10 years ago, I knew that one day he would become my husband. Although I wanted to get married many years ago, I truly feel that the time in which I waited for Clint to pop to the big question allowed me the time and opportunity to plan a wedding that reflected the couple we are today.

When selecting our venue, the number one thing we had to bear in mind was the safety of our son and the other kids in the bridal party. Down Converys Lane allowed the kids to play freely, and it gave me piece of mind knowing I did not have to constantly watch our son. So let’s just say the safety feature of the venue was a massive bonus. Other things we considered were our personalities, our family home and the option to add limited decorations to our venue and still have it look amazing. Clint and I were both raised in a small country town, and we wanted to reflect the natural beauty of where we grew up on our wedding day. Our family home displays a sense of contemporary country, and it was important for me to ensure my photographs also reflected the same idea. By communicating effectively and regularly with my photographer, this was easily achieved. Because of the venue’s beauty, we were able to incorporate table decorations and lights to add a soft, contemporary, country feel without having to add much else.

The main color theme of the wedding was cream and white with splashes of brown. Little DIY touches such as the baby jars hanging behind the bridal table, the “Mr” and “Mrs” signs on our chairs, the suitcase for the wishing well and the pictures of our parents delivered a special touch to our special day and brought it together nicely. We also wanted to spend money on things of greater value such as photography, food and entertainment. Little things such as the cake (which cost us $20) and table decorations were inexpensive, but they still made our wedding look like a million dollars. This just proves that you do not need to spend lots of money on weddings to make things look amazing.
