Nothing says pure happiness like yellow swizzle stick straws and children blowing bubbles in the sun. This backyard wedding is exactly what a backyard wedding should be — casual and laid back, with homemade design elements that enhance the natural beauty of the surroundings. I also love the bride’s unique departure from the standard white bridal gown. She looks so lovely, and she certainly found a way to incorporate something blue! From Fennel & Fox Photography… Nicola and Andrew Fox held their ceremony in a park close to their home under the shade of a tree on a very sunny Melbourne day. It was sweet and laid-back, with both families involved in the ceremony and children running around and blowing bubbles in the sun. Back at their house, the guests enjoyed homemade lemonade with handmade yellow swizzle sticks and other drinks in the shade. Nicola and Andrew didn’t stop smiling, and there were heartfelt speeches from family and friends. It was such a lovely day to be part of and one of my favorite weddings to shoot.
From the Bride… Our wedding was definitely a family affair. My mum and I made the rosettes for all the guests to wear, my brother made the paper poms, my sister made meters of bunting and my dad drew the tree for our guests to put their fingerprints on.
