From the Bride… When my husband Kyle and I got engaged, we knew right away that we wanted the wedding to be in Del Mar. Kyle’s family is very involved in horse racing and we spend a large portion of our summer at the Del Mar racetrack every year. Most of the year, it is a quaint, sleepy little beach town but during racing season Del Mar comes alive. Del Mar is about 90 miles from our home in Huntington Beach and although I wouldn’t exactly call it a destination wedding, the distance did create a few challenges when it came to meeting with vendors. Alison Patt, our coordinator, made the entire planning process so seamless and easy. I would have been utterly lost without her.
My vision for the wedding was a combination of my love of all things feminine and soft with Kyle’s love of the ocean and the outdoors. I wanted the day to reflect us as a couple but include us as individuals as well. We named the tables after Kyle’s favorite surf spots between our house and the wedding venue. We chose sunglasses as wedding favors to keep the mood fun and light. We included pictures of our grandparents, who are our inspiration for everlasting love in our marriage. We even included pictures of our pup, Cody, who unfortunately was not allowed to attend but is the love of our life and completes our family. Overall, our wedding day completely represented us and was an unforgettable day with all of the most important people in our lives.
