Chicago Wedding at Fulton’s on the River from Kina Wicks Photography

With baby’s breath bouquets, the cutest junior wedding participants imaginable, and one of the coolest escort card displays I’ve seen, this wedding just ROCKS, plain and simple. This couple figured out a way to throw a traditionally elegant soiree with modern chic details (like the blue ombre cake) that more than fit in — They look like they belong. Many thanks to Kina Wicks Photography for sharing the amazingness right here in the full gallery of photos!

From the Bride… Like most couples, we wanted our wedding to be a reflection of who we are, which meant months of planning, designing and building. On the night of our wedding, we were able to relax and truly take in every moment — each filled with emotion and gratitude for each other, friends and family. Fulton’s on the River was the ideal venue for us, holding both the ceremony and reception at the riverfront location. It was the perfect place to capture everything that is a Chicago summer night. We felt it was important to include the children in the wedding, not only as ring bearers and flower girls, but we had two junior ushers and two children readers during the ceremony. Not only are they freaking adorable, we wanted to be sure to recognize the authenticity and joy that children bring in to our lives on a regular basis.

Our song says, “Home. Home is whenever I’m with you…” (“Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes) really says it all. On the wedding night, we were so clearly reminded of how blessed we are to have one another and so incredibly lucky to have such amazing friends and family to join us for this first step in building our lives together.

PS — My dad suggested we dress up as the wedding party and guests for Halloween … who’s in? ;)
