St. Charles Wedding from Something Pretty Photography

Old McDonald had a very fashionable farm and on that farm he had an unbelievably chic wedding by Something Pretty Photography. As a farmer’s daughter myself, I couldn’t be more in love with how this cute couple turned Heritage Prairie Farm into an elegant venue featuring soft DIY blooms & decor. I love the meaningful elements such as the bride’s wedding dress that was passed down from her mother. Say eee-i-eee-i-o to the full gallery here.

From Something Pretty Photography This wedding was truly an honor because Sue is one of my very best friends, and it was DIY to the hilt. Everyone pitched in and helped out to make this outdoor farm wedding a beautiful event. It took place at Heritage Prairie Farm in St. Charles, Illinois, and I cannot sing their praises enough. I did the photographs, her friends put together the flowers and centerpieces, Sue and Chris created the invites and the seat assignments (guests’ names pinned onto painted images of the state they came from since there were so many out-of-towners), her dress had been her mother’s gown that she had remade, and my husband officiated the ceremony. The farm had one of the most amazing spreads of farm-to-table eating imaginable and for dessert, there were individual cobblers for everyone. It truly was a special occasion, and when a huge storm came through one hour before the ceremony and knocked out the power, everyone at the farm was amazing and quickly got everything inside one of the barns, and since there was no power, everyone hummed “All You Need is Love” by the Beatles as Sue walked down the aisle. It was perfect. :)
