Here is the story of a beyond gorgeous bride and her lucky, lucky groom. The two had a beautiful wedding, coordinated by Donna Romani Events, at the Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara filled with love, laughter, friends, and family. We are a laid-back couple and really wanted, more than anything else, for this to be a fun celebration for ourselves, our friends and family, while at the same time, staying true to the glamorous, elegant, “Old-Hollywood” feel of Bacara. Any decisions we made during the planning process had to reflect that. Even the vendors we used were chosen, in part, because we felt they understood exactly what we pictured for our wedding day.
As the bride, I never dreamed of a “Princess bride-style”, but more of a “Guns N’ Roses, November Rain/ Stephanie Seymour bride” kind of thing. I didn’t want anything too sweet or “bride-y”, just chic, modern and cool. That is why we eneded up going with deep reds for the flowers(my vision of what rock-and-roll weddings would look like), with all our accents being either black lacquer or gold touches. We also threw in a few black and gold sparkling pillows as accents on the sofas in the rotunda.
Our wedding day started out a typical June morning in Santa Barbara, with a thick marine layer. Just before the ceremony the clouds burned off and it was a spectacular, sunny day with the crystal blue ocean for a backdrop. It was a perfect setting for us to share such a special day with our family and closest friends.
