Rustic weddings might very well be my favorite of all the weddings. This one is especially lovely because it comes with the striking surrounding of the Villa San Juan Capistrano in all its splendor of times past beautifully captured by Laura Ashbrook Photography. And that image of the father of the bride kissing his daughter’s hand moments before he walks her down the aisle? So heartwarming it brought tears to this wedding lover’s eyes. From the Bride… It was truly the perfect day, and we continue to marvel in such a gift! A stone courtyard surrounded by 100-year-old buildings, large trees, rustic furniture gathered from castles around Europe and a beautiful overhanging floral entry provided a warm, welcoming, intimate feel. With the beauty of San Juan Capistrano and the historic Mission San Juan Capistrano adjacent to the venue, we were enchanted. The color palette of pale pink, coral and turquoise faded away but contributed the essence of the evening. The tables were scattered with multiple-hued votives and mercury glass with doilies underneath. The highly professional vendors and villa staff took care of all the details, allowing us to focus on enjoying ourselves and our friends and family. In the end, all the details melted away as we stood together exchanging our vows with tears in our eyes, emotions uncontrollable in the middle of such a sacred and grace-filled day!
