I get the biggest goosebumps when a bride walks down the same aisle as her mother did years before her. Call me sentimental, but I can’t imagine a more romantic setting for a wedding. Especially when said aisle is in front of your beloved grandmothers (need I say stunning?) home. Luke Wilson Special Events had all the pieces for a romantic evening, but took it to a whole new level of fabulous with their planning & design – as you will absolutely see in the gallery of gorgeous from Heather Forsythe Photography!

William and I met at a Halloween party in 2005. It was several months before we went on our first date, but we’ve been together ever since! William proposed five years later on my 28th birthday overlooking the Charleston harbor. He invited our families to celebrate (birthday and engagement) with us following his romantic proposal, and then whisked me away for a surprise trip to New York for a continued weekend celebration.
When we returned to Charleston, we hit the ground running with wedding plans. There were so many decisions to be made, but one we did not have to even think about was the location and venue. I had always known I would get married in the garden of my grandmother’s beautiful Victorian home in Summerville, South Carolina, less than 30 miles from historic Charleston. I’d spent so many summers and holidays at my grandmother’s home, and couldn’t imagine a more perfect spot for the most important day of my life. What made it even more special was the fact that I would be continuing a family tradition– my mother and aunts held their weddings at the same home. I would get ready in the same room and walk down the same brick path as my mother had thirty three years before, almost to the day.
After that, things just fell into place. With the gorgeous Victorian house as a backdrop, there was no question that the wedding would exude classic Southern elegance and sophistication. Soft cream linens, lush florals in ivory and blush and vintage-inspired accents of champagne and mercury glass completed the look.
