Perth Wedding from Angela Higgins + Fox & Rabbit

This little number has really swept me up in all of its magnificent loveliness and I would expect nothing less from the wedding of the woman behind the blooms of the wonderful Fox & Rabbit all captured magically by Angela Higgins. With the oh-so-charming details throughout the day including chalkboard-painted mason jars for drink cups, the ahhhh-mazing gown from Aurelio Costarella, and the comfy sofas and seating for the reception at a family friend’s Dobra Farm, this wedding is the epitome of delightful and is worth a few (or, ahem, forty-five) minutes of your Monday morning to browse the full wedding in our gallery right here.

From Angela HigginsBec and Dan are pretty incredible people. From the moment I arrived on their wedding day, I witnessed nothing but overwhelming love and support from all of their family and friends. Perth managed to put on a beautiful display of autumn color for their wedding, and we had such perfect weather as if the universe too was joining in on the celebration. They finished the day by dancing under the stars, surrounded by the laughter and love of their closest friends.

From the Bride… As a florist, choosing the flowers for our wedding was the hardest decision of all. I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do with my wedding flowers but decided against placing an order. I went down to the market a few days before the wedding and picked out what I liked. I finished constructing the bouquets at 9 p.m. the night before the wedding and then bound them the morning of. It was messy and chaotic, but I would not have wanted it any other way. The reception was held at a farm in Gingin (approximately 1.5 hours drive from Perth city) that belonged to good family friends. The acreage that we chose for the site was originally home to a couple of cows! Our friends were so incredibly on board with all of our ideas — they relocated the livestock, moved mountains of rubbish to create parking space, leveled the ground, grew the grass out, cut trees and spent countless hours bringing our vision to life. The set up was a huge collaborative event with friends and family, but my dad was the true hero when it came to the set-up. He worked tirelessly to build frames around the stage and food prep areas, strung lights across the dance floor and created signage for focal points and directions. He took our small ideas and brought them to life, far surpassing our expectations.

The best advice I can give to someone planning their wedding is to know that your wedding is not all about you as a bride. Daniel and I decided from the beginning that it wasn’t even entirely about us as a couple, but that our wedding was the celebration of two whole families coming together to make one new family. Taking the best bits of both sides and enhancing them with our own ideas and beliefs to begin something new and spectacular. When I was able to shift the perspective off of myself, I became less obsessed with perfection and gained greater enjoyment from the planning process.
