Santa Margarita Ranch Wedding from Ken Kienow Wedding Photography

Oh.my.gosh, what a seriously amazing wedding we have here from Ken Kienow Wedding Photography. I don’t know what I love more – the high school sweetheart bride and groom, the fact that they had s’mores at their reception (um, heck to the YES) or the ah-mazing images of these two in the meadow with the golden setting sun behind them. I can’t imagine a more perfect location than Santa Margarita Ranch for this truly joyous wedding celebration by Allure Event Designs, and you can just see the happiness and giddiness on every guest’s face in some of the best dancing images I’ve ever seen. See the whole wedding right here.

From the Bride… My (now) husband and I are high school sweethearts. We’ve known each other since we were 12 and have been dating since shortly after. Surprisingly, even though we’ve been together for ages and always knew we would get married, I didn’t have a single wedding detail planned (except that I wanted to make s’mores — I LOVE s’mores). My husband on the other hand is a wedding photographer on the side, so from shooting so many weddings, he had a clear idea of what he thought stood out in a day.

Once we got engaged, we pulled inspiration from wedding blogs to try and understand the look that would work best for us. It was important to us that the wedding was personal and reflected us. We wanted people to feel like they were at our party and an intimate part of our union. Once we had an idea in mind, we found Santa Margarita Ranch and fell in love with the venue. From there, we started meeting and working with wonderful vendors who understood our vision, and they helped us execute our perfect day. It was also important to us that our families were involved. My mom and grandmother both wore lace dresses on their wedding day, so I knew I wanted a lace dress too – and I incorporated lace from my mom’s dress into my bouquet.

My parents were a HUGE help. Our motto was that Tyler and I were the “strategy” and they were the “execution.” They made all our wedding dreams come true. My mom made over 300 graham crackers with our initials on them for the favors, all the burlap and lace centerpieces, my veil and so, so much more. And my dad made (yes made!) the wedding cake table, all the wood signs and anything else that required a hammer. They were truly amazing, and it brought all four of us closer together throughout the process.

The actual wedding day was more amazing than we could ever have imagined. Everything came together perfectly – we had amazing vendors there to execute our perfect day. It felt just like we were hosting a big dinner and dancing party, which is what we wanted. Looking back at pictures and talking to friends, everyone enjoyed themselves. It was perfect.
