From the Bride…. It was only a day after Simon asked me to marry him that we visited Tuck’s Ridge and knew that this was the place that we wanted to get married. We knew that we wanted our wedding to be relaxed and fun — like a mini festival. So we added pompoms, flowers, a wishing tree and an outdoor photo-booth to encourage our guests to embrace the celebrations.
It was really important to us that we use local produce and suppliers. Our gluten-free cupcakes were freshly baked up the road in Frankston, the fresh flowers were hand-delivered on the day — they even found my groom-to-be, who had decided to change accommodation without telling me — very sneaky! Our delicious food and wine was prepared by the team at Tuck’s Ridge. We had a talented Melbourne musician to sing acoustic folksy favorites for the ceremony, then some old school jazz after the formalities. A close friend was our cinematography. He used a number of formats including super-eight film and time-lapse photography to retell the story of our day.
We were incredibly blessed with the perfect autumnal weather, and our dynamic photographic duo (Kat and Scout) captured the light of the day, taking photographs between the vines and at sunset as we walked together down by the lake. I couldn’t have asked for a more magical day – or a more beautiful husband!
