Backyard Pasadena Wedding from The Youngrens

The Youngrens have sent a wedding our way that fully embraces all things backyard wedding. It’s a homemade wonderland where guests were encouraged to “share in the love” picnic style. What does that entail exactly? Vignettes of open air seating, scrumptious comfort food and a speak easy bar to round out the night all thoughtfully crafted by Extraordinary Events. And for all of you striped lovers, there’s plenty of those too. See the full shindig right here.

From the Bride… Our wedding was not only a once in a lifetime event for us, but it was a celebration for all of our community — the people who have raised us and faithfully supported us. The details were a way to say thank you to them and to share who we are with who we love. Through the details, we got the opportunity to shape our wedding into the perfect day for us and for our guests. We were able to invite them to not only observe the day, but to share in it — to “Share in the Love.” A few of the decisions we made to carry this theme, “Share in the Love,” included: having a pre-ceremony reception at the park with drinks and snacks so that guests could mingle and take in the moment, encouraging mingling with easy-to-eat food and community tables, and sharing our love for fine cocktails by having a mixology bar. We knew that we wouldn’t truly enjoy the day unless we were celebrating alongside our family and friends. Being intentional with the details was the best way we could have approached such a special day.

From The Youngrens Jason Ippolito and Elizabeth Villa tied the knot under a massive oak tree hung with mason jars and ribbons in the hills of Pasadena and held their vintage, picnic-style reception at her parents multi-level Spanish estate. The lower level became a 1920’s picnic with hand-torn cloth banners hung through the estate, and guests were treated to a vintage popcorn machine, gourmet barbecue sandwiches, and picnic-style tables reminiscent of the early-twentieth century. As the sun sank down, the upper level transformed into a prohibition-style speakeasy with a cigar and whiskey lounge, an outdoor dance floor lit with market bistro lights and a custom mixology bar complete with Edison lights, two mixologists dressed in 1920’s attire and top shelf liquor choices. This wedding was the perfect combination of heart, community and style, style, style!
