Minneapolis Wedding from Spencer Combs Photography + Park Place Planning & Events

The Dutchess of Cambride is a favorite style icon around the SMP offices, but if we had to pick the one, most significant fashion trend she has started, it HAS to be the white bridesmaid dress. It’s fabulous. Especially when paired with a super chic winter soiree from Park Place Planning & Events. Double especially when Spencer Combs Photography brings his camera to the party. And triple especially when the gallery is good enough for a full day (or week) or perusing!

After having crossed paths for many years, growing up and going to school near each other our entire lives, we finally met through my childhood best friend about 6 years ago.  After 4 years of enjoying and getting to know each other, Teddy proposed at my family’s cabin on the 4th of July – a special day for Teddy as that was when his grandfather proposed to his grandmother years before.  An added perk, the beautiful fireworks that lasted all weekend!

Choosing Minikahda for our reception venue was easy – we wanted our guests to feel comfortable and relaxed, yet not have too casual of a setting and found that this was the perfect fit.  Minikahda’s views provided a beautiful backdrop and the classic style perfectly complimented our personal taste.  The men wore suits to align with our casual formality theme while the natural light, lanterns and flowers worked to incorporate the mood of the season and environment.  The fire pit overlooking the lake and cityscape was the perfect finish on a crisp fall night.

Teddy’s family is Italian, and at every family wedding we have a grand march – a tradition that connects us back to the village where his Grandfather was born. Essentially, his aunts and uncles lead the wedding party followed by all our guests through out the reception space to traditional Italian music. It was such a fun way to get everyone at the wedding involved and on the dance floor! We also wanted to honor the many examples of love that have touched our lives so we had a display with original pictures of our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents’ weddings.

It would be difficult to isolate just one memory from such an incredible day, but having that many good friends and family members by your side is something that would be impossible to forget.
