One of my favorite movies of all-time happens to be the ever-fabulous Gidget, so when I read that this darling bride and groom-to-be modeled their engagement session after those crazy awesome beach flicks of the past (Gidget included!), I knew I was going to LOVE every last minute of it. And, really, who wouldn’t love a bonfire on the beach, s’mores and an adorable duo in soon-to-be married bliss?!? From the Bride-to-Be… We met in high school in La Jolla, California, so when we were deciding on a spot for our engagement photo shoot with our friends Brett and Liz, we chose a place that we’ve spent a lot time together: Windansea Beach. And we were oh-so-lucky to have a gorgeous, sunny beach afternoon on the day of our shoot! I have always loved those fabulous retro beach movies with Frankie Avalon and Gidget and thought a vintage beach scene would be the perfect way to put our own little spin on our photo sesh. We collected fun pieces, such as the floppy hat and the red striped umbrella from a local nautical vintage shop, The Faded Awning. Erin and the team from Hall Events crafted the rest, using goodies from Erin’s vintage collection. How sweet is that Coca-Cola cooler? We also were sure to include fun little things we love, like JB’s doughnuts, playing in the waves, s’mores and campfires, which made it all the more fun. JB and I couldn’t have been more ecstatic about how the photos from Brett and Liz turned out. We are so thankful to call them our good friends and can’t wait to celebrate our wedding with these two!
