Croatian Wedding by PJ Photos

If you ever want to hear me go on and on (even more than I typically do) about something I love, bring up Croatia. My hubby and I traveled there for our honeymoon many moons ago, and it has left the prettiest of marks on my soul. So when I saw this Croatian beauty captured by PJ Photos, I just had to get my hands on it. Because it’s everything I loved about that beautiful place and more – timeless elegance mixed with the fab island vibe  – and it all makes for one fabulous place for this so-in-love couple to say I do. See it all here!

From PJ PhotosMasha and Fred live in Brussels, but for their wedding day they chose to travel to Solta, a small island in the central Croatian archipelago. It has just five villages and just over 1,000 inhabitants. On this hidden pearl of Croatia, they found everything they had been looking for their special day: a small fishing village, a beautiful old church on the very top of the island, a marvelous castle from the 17th century, the crystal blue sea and magnificent rocky beaches…

Masha was born in Croatia, but most of her life she has been living in Spain and Belgium. The idea of getting married on one of Croatian islands, where, in her childhood,  she had used to spend so many holidays with her family, was very appealing. The only thing that she wanted to avoid was a popular destination full of tourists. She dreamed about a hidden place, one that was small and beautiful. So when she saw the amazing hotel and restaurant Martinis Marchi, Masha knew that she had found her perfect place to say “I do.” Masha occupied the main apartment, spreading over four floors. It was a perfect place for preparations…

The wedding ceremony took place in St. Stephen Church (Sveti Stjepan) in Grohote, the biggest and the most beautiful church on the whole island. Guests came from all over Europe, and many of them decided to take advantage of this trip to Croatia and stay a little bit longer to enjoy the Adriatic. On Friday night, there was a friendly little party in the beach club with a white dress code, which featured delicious, local food, well-done cocktails and a marvelous sunset…
