Yellow and modern seem to be besties around these parts. They go together like peanut butter and jelly and when blanketing a gorgeous DC wedding captured by Gabe Aceves Photography, it’s a sight to be seen. A gorgeous sight at that, made even more so by that show stopper of a dress and one that you can see from beginning to end right here.
From the Bride & Groom… While looking for wedding venues, we knew that we wanted to have a quick and intimate (or at least as intimate as 160 guests can get) ceremony outdoors. When we found the Westin Georgetown, we fell in love with the promenade (the beautiful hardwood floors and columns) and how it flowed directly into the courtyard, which was the perfect size for our ceremony. We chose the color scheme of yellow, gray and white because we loved how fresh and clean the colors looked, especially for an early spring wedding. We both adore the chevron print and wanted to incorporate it into our invitation suite, which we were able to achieve with the help of our graphic designer. We ended up carrying the design through to our menu and place cards. Music is important to both of us, and we were particular in our song selections (no line dances!). We were fortunate enough to find DJ As-One through Scratch Wedding who understood exactly what we liked and was able to play a Proxy song that Thana had requested for the grande finale. Ultimately, we just wanted to have a good time and enjoy the celebration of our marriage with our closest family and friends, and that’s exactly what we did. We wouldn’t have changed anything about our day.
