Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club Wedding by Amorology Weddings

Heather Balliet of Amorology Weddings has a way with making a themed wedding look so dashing, so unbelievably chic that you want to skip down the themed wedding path and never look back. With the help of Twigg Botanicals and Llanes Wedding Photography, the stories of the Grimm’s fairy tales were brought to life – character clad tables, trimmings in the brightest colors, and an Indian wedding so beautifully woven with culture and family. It’s enough to bring a wedding blogger to tears. Legit happy tears. See every last ounce of the pretty unfold right here.

From Amorology WeddingsA fairy tale wedding is what most girls dream of, but we got to literally create one for this sweet couple, Johanna and Mihir. When we learned the bride’s favorite book was an illustrated version of Grimm’s Fairy Tales, the ideas and inspiration quickly began to pour out. The many stories and themes gave us an abundance of  intriguing and romantic elements to play with, giving Johanna and Mihir a beautiful story to remember as their own. This woods- and whimsy-inspired wedding allowed all those who attended to travel into the woods to visit grandmother’s house, the three bears and other storybook characters … reminding us that an adventure is always just a page away.

Johanna and Mihir had a traditional Indian ceremony under an arch strung with mini yarn balls (reminiscent of the bride’s love of knitting), pom pom garlands and climbing flowers. Small ferns and flower clusters were artfully placed down the aisle by Twigg Botanicals. As always, the gorgeous saris added color and texture to the overall feel of the event. Because Johanna loves to knit, we were also inspired to create a colorful escort card cabinet filled with knitting needles and yarn, stacked sky high in a vintage wood cabinet. Once guests found their names, they were prompted to weave their way to their tables. The entire room was filled with whimsical flowers and small touches. Magenta, orange and teal kept the room bright and cheery. The table numbers and other charming paper elements were created by the lovely Cassie at  Peanut Press Creative and made to look like little animals from Grimm’s Fairy Tales. The three little pigs, fox, little pied piper and wolf  found themselves among the numbers and the enchanting centerpieces, made up of birch logs, bright florals, ferns, moss and wild mushrooms. Different-colored napkins and flowers made each place setting unique. The flowers rested delicately atop the menus to greet guests as they were seated.

Johanna’s family loves to make pie together, and it is Mihir’s favorite treat too, so we couldn’t help but create a delightful and delicious display of mini pies and cake that were “not too hot”, “not too cold,” but “just right!” The table was appropriately named “The Bearfoot Contessa” alluding to Mama Bear’s kitchen and offered each of the guests a sweet ending following the Indian cuisine. We loved the different colors and sizes of porridge bowls used as planters. They were filled with flowers and moss.  Fresh flowers, pretty paper elements, and of course the yummy desserts made this table eye candy that no guest could refuse. As a funny side note … the cake was so tempting that one of the guests couldn’t help themselves and decided to play the role of Goldilocks, diving into the back of the wedding cake before the couple had a chance to cut it and leaving the bride and groom each thinking,”Someone’s been eating my cake…”  This was a first for us, but we managed to save the cake before it was prematurely devoured.

We were so pleased to be part of this special story. Here at Amorology, we know that their fairy tale has really just begun. Johanna and Mihir, thank you for letting us be in one of the most important chapters of your love story. Enjoy each unique chapter, and cheers to you having your happy ending! And a big thank you to Jenny Llanes of Llanes Wedding Photography for capturing the endearing moments to always look back on.
