Berry Wedding at Silos Estate by The Follans

The Follans have done it again.  Yep, they’ve left me totally speechless over yet another drop dead gorgeous affair – and this time it’s a downright amazing Berry wedding that has me so completely flabbergasted.  I’m talking a ceremony setting that is almost too breathtaking to believe, a bride and groom straight from a romantic fairytale and DIY goodness as far as the eye can see.  It’s a sweet, sweet soiree overflowing with L.O.V.E. and it’s filling our gallery with a whole lot of pretty.  Join me there for SOOO much more.

From the Bride… Silos Estate is stunning. Nestled among mountains, it’s the kind of location that looks amazing regardless of the weather. What makes it even more special is the owners, Raj and Sophie and the restaurant manager Rob. They are flexible, helpful and insightful. They always had time for our (many, many) questions and were so accommodating with all our requests. The accommodation is great with plenty of home touches. We stayed there for the weekend and from the moment we arrived on the Friday, we were relaxed. There is something very calming about the property which is great considering how stressful weddings can be for people! The other plus about the venue is that they make GREAT wine which was used in our drinks package. Our favorite memory was our first look — it was such a lovely, romantic, intimate moment and very us.

Our photographers Andrew and Sarah were great. The first thing many people noticed about them is how down to earth and nice they are — that’s not always the case with wedding photographers. They were so great about keeping us on track and making everything transition so easily. We liked how they would come up with an idea and leave it to us to decide if we wanted to go for it.  Their flexibility made the whole process very relaxed. Their photos are beautiful and exactly what we wanted. Our minister was Neil Percival from Berry Anglican Church. In a time where many people are going for civil ceremonies, it was important for us to have something with more history and meaning. Neil did such a spectacular job; the ceremony was insightful, romantic with just the right touch of humor. Working with him through the process kept us grounded and focused on what weddings are really about, not flowers, cakes, suites and dresses, it’s about love and committing to love someone for the rest of your life.

When planning your wedding, don’t insist on everything being perfect — instead go with what feels right. I believe in fate and if something felt right, we went for it, and in the end we had a perfect wedding without even trying!
