Barr Mansion Wedding by Kim Maguire Photography

Some say being struck by lightning is lucky, and after seeing the Barr Mansion after meeting that fate, we’d have to agree. This couple picked it as their venue, site unseen, and what a pretty gamble it was. Kim Maguire Photography shot all the lucky loveliness, including the Stems Floral Design flowers accented by tiny white buds to match the bride’s heavenly Lazaro dress. See the stunning site and more in the full gallery!

From Kim Maguire PhotographyThe Barr Mansion is a beautiful and “organic” wedding venue. They have been through a lot in the past couple of years. Their reception venue was struck by lightening and burned down. They have since re-built a beautiful and environmentally sound building. They cater their own events with fruits and vegetables that are grown on their property.

From the Bride… Now living in Berkeley, California, we knew that we wanted to have our wedding at an outdoor venue in my hometown of Austin. Having met in DC, lived in New York, Austin and now in the Bay Area, it was almost like having a destination wedding, where our friends and family could visit the town we love so dearly. We chose the Barr Mansion actually having never seen it in person! Our wonderful wedding photographer, Kim Maguire, and her mom captured the beauty of the venue and the spirit of the day. It was pure joy and bliss. The organic gourmet food was delicious, and our guests enjoyed Amy’s Ice Cream while dancing the night away to the great live band, Special Edition, or sneaking off to take photos in the photo booth.
