Gorgeous images are a mainstay in Jasmine Star’s work and beautiful details are a given for anything the ladies of Beth Helmstetter Events touch. Now put those all together, add in some big ol’ blooms by Holly Flora and voila…wedding wonderment on the lovely grounds of Hummingbird Nest. It’s the kind of wedding that gets the SMP office all a buzz with scrumptious dress dreaming, adorable couple alerting and the like. From the Bride… The inspiration for the wedding came from many things — colors, textures, feelings and style. I’m a fashion designer, so my inspiration notebook was out of control — think of it like a physical Pinterest since the site wasn’t around when I was planning my wedding. I look at this book whenever I think about my wedding, and it reminds me of the planning process which was a very special time for me and my mom (a.k.a. my best friend). The most unique thing about our wedding was that the entire weekend radiated LOVE — you could feel it. 80% of our guests traveled from all over the world to celebrate with Matthew and I, and it was the most special weekend ever. The love and support will never be forgotten.
We danced to Dave Matthews’ song “You and Me” for our first dance, and we sang every lyric, which was one of my favorite memories, not to mention that we brought down the house! It felt like it was just the two of us celebrating what we had built in our six years together, including everything we planned on doing in the future. My second favorite memory is walking down the aisle with my hero, my father. As the doors of the church opened, he squeezed my hand and asked one simple question, “Ready?” I looked at him, took a deep breath and said, “Yes.” The best piece of advice I could offer a bride planning her wedding would be to enjoy the process! And look forward to the ride of your life together!
