Meridian Carousel Wedding by Love is a Big Deal Part II

Love is a Big Deal is back in action with Part II of this all day fete. After a fun-loving brunch wedding and maybe a quick nap, Mr. and Mrs. and all of their guests reconvened at the Soulé Steam Feed Works for an eclectic dance party full of great food and loads of cake. It’s an all day love-a-thon and it continues on in the gallery. See it right here!

From the Bride… After a good nap, we got the party started at the Soulé Building in downtown Meridian. The Soulé Building is an old steamworks factory that was converted into a museum and is now an event venue. Our wedding was one of the first events that the Soulé Building ever hosted, but it certainly won’t be the last. The venue is made up of two separate buildings with an alley running through the middle. This setup allowed us to have our band (with horns!) in the main building, seating in the alley, and food on the museum side away from the noise. Lucky for us, the weather cooperated and there was no rain, so the alley got plenty of use for guests who wanted to cool down and take a break from all the dancing. We love all kinds of food, so we had our caterers prepare foods from around the world. We had a Mexican station with a fajita bar, an Italian station with a pizza bar and a Greek station with marinated shrimp and various kinds of hummus. Our cakes were positioned to be the focal point at the end of the alley on the same table. Everyone entered the venue through the alley and got to write messages to us on small chalkboards that were hanging up. We started the dance party off with our band’s cover of “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne and kept it going until we made our exit with plenty of sparklers to go around. It was a full day, but it allowed us to take time and enjoy it!
