Rise and shine SMP Texas! It’s Saturday, and time to give a big, fat virtual hug to some of our newest members of the SMP Texas family. And trust me when I say, you want to get cozy with these lovelies. From the stylish stationery by Southern Fried Paper to the pretty planning by EventChic to the gorgeous wedding cinematography by Nostalgia Film – we have some fine folks for you to get to know!

The key to my heart is stationery. Ok…and my hubby, but stationery is key to my wedding-obsessed heart. And Southern Fried Paper is holding that key in the palm of their hands, because their paper creations are perfection. Drool-worthy if I do say so myself. So do yourself a favor and stop by their site to get a big dose of paper prettiness this Saturday morning!

About Southern Fried PaperWhile planning her own wedding, owner/designer, Chelsea Carpenter, had a hard time finding an invitation that fit her individual style and budget. She looked through book after book of invitations and eventually gave up on the traditional retail lines. Having a degree in creative advertising design, she decided to design her own wedding stationery.

Much of her inspiration comes from Victoriana (think ornate scrolls, lavish fonts, pretty silhouettes), old Hollywood movies, vibrant colors, and slightly-girly typography… “traditional with a twist.” At SFP, we believe the paper for a wedding should be as unique as the bride herself.  Everything we create is truly custom. The bride can have as much or as little involvement as they want. Some brides already have a specific idea or theme and others just let us run wild with ideas. We love creating things that truly represent the couple – where guests say “yep that’s them.” Southern Fried Paper has been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, Southern Living Weddings and Brides UK, among others.

Planning a wedding in Texas? Want to be able to enjoy every minute twirling around with your new mister without having to worry about all the little things that go into your big day? EventChic should be your next phone call. From perfecting your dream design to making sure the day goes off without a hitch, EventChic can make sure your dream day is indeed a dream.

From EventChicEventChic was founded in 2011 after I decided to leave the corporate world to follow my passion for designing, planning and executing weddings that are a beautiful representation of the couple. My mission is to celebrate life with style.  Style is not only about elevated levels of detail and beauty, but is also about how we treat people. I am honored to be a part of one of your life’s sweetest moments and will give each detail of your wedding the attention it deserves to create lasting memories.

I could go on and on (and on) about how important wedding cinematography is – there is just nothing like watching your favorite day unfold on screen. But all you have to do is take one little look at Nostalgia Film‘s highlight reel below and you’ll see why hiring a videographer is oh so important. Need more proof? Just take a hop over to their site, and you’ll be hooked in no time!

Nostalgia Film Reel | Super 8 Film & HD Wedding Videography | Austin, Texas from Nostalgia Film on Vimeo.

About Nostalgia FilmVintage-style Super 8 film and modern videography for weddings and events to remember. We preserve memories and create treasured heirlooms that capture emotions for generations and are infinitely watchable. We love the sweet, the quirky, the sentimental, the spontaneous, the witty and the whimsical and eschew the cheesy and long-winded videos of the past. We shoot unobtrusively, and we like to connect with you and help you feel comfortable with the cameras, and that comes across in our films. We love to shoot on Super 8mm film with our vintage professional film cameras because of the magical, dreamy, and evocative nature and vintage sensibilities. But we don’t dismiss modern technology either, and we shoot cinematic high-definition videography. We enjoy artfully combining the two for a timeless film. We like that our style and approach are different, and we think you will, too. We’ll work with you closely to capture the specific moments and look and feel that you desire for a film that you will love for many years to come.

We are a newlywed couple, Shanna and Michael Pharis, who founded Nostalgia Film in 2010. We both have a background in and love of film, and during the course of planning our own wedding, we fell in love with the idea of capturing weddings, family memories, and other events on the nostalgic and timeless medium of Super 8 film that we both remember from our childhoods.

We’re offering SMP readers 10% off of our Super 8 Film and Hybrid Film & Video packages and 15% off of our HD Videography packages for weddings booked by 8/31/12.

AND we’re GIVING AWAY a HD Engagement Film: A 3- to 5-minute highlight engagement film to be filmed in Austin before the couple’s wedding day. Perfect to share during the reception! Just leave a comment below answering –  “What’s one thing about your wedding day you’ll want to remember most?” Winner will be selected at random on July 26, 2012. Good luck!

Welcome, welcome! We couldn’t be more thrilled to have you join our clan! xoxo, A.Blaire
