Parkdale Yacht Club Wedding by Tigs Macallan

For two surfers, it only seemed right to tie the knot along the sandy shores of their beloved Australian coastline – and that ultimately makes for a wedding that has us ready to break open a bottle of bubbly today. With dreamlike images from Tigs Macallan, and that simple sophistication we love so much about Australian affairs, it goes without saying the gallery is one GORGEOUS place to be today!

From Tigs MacallanDave and Jen are both surfers and so the beach is special place with lots of meaning and memories for both of them. The reception took place at Parkdale Yacht Club. Jen had a rustic beach feel she wanted for the day, so she did all the decor and planning herself. We did the bridal shoot on Mordialloc Beach in Melbourne and found a rundown little coastal house for the house shots.

From the Bride… It was so much fun getting ready with my closest friends and family. Leading up to the wedding was a little hectic because it was mostly DIY, but it all paid off as it was intimate and very personal. Dave and I love the natural beauty of the beach, so it was important to incorporate that and our love of God into our wedding. I honestly wasn’t nervous until I stepped out of the car — then something just swept over me and I was bawling my eyes out. I couldn’t believe I was marrying someone who actually loved me so much for just who I was. It was the best day! Tigs, our photographer, was so much fun and made having photos easy. They were just what we wanted! Natural and non-pretentious. She helped make our day special and lots of fun as we had our photos taken at the beach, which is a special place to both of us. Tigs is so down-to-earth and makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera, paying close attention to detail capturing those special looks, smiles and glances that no one else sees. She’s just great.
