My heart is seriously aflutter over this gorgeous red-headed bride and her sweet-as-can-be 50’s-style lace dress (the groom is pretty darn adorable, too!) From the Bride & Groom… When we originally started planning the wedding, it was going to be a small gathering in the park … however once Jo started planning the wedding it turned into a whole weekend affair. So we decided to have a really relaxed, simple, country-style wedding and to have it somewhere where we could make a weekend out of it. The wedding venue (Glen Erin) was the first venue we looked at. We loved it but thought we shouldn’t just choose the first venue we looked at. We went to one more venue which was awful — pretty sure they hadn’t hosted a wedding for years, judging by the champagne glass out the front that had a family of spiders living in it. We realised that Glen Erin was perfect for what we were looking for. We ended up having a cocktail wedding because we really liked the idea of everyone being able to walk around freely and mingle with each other, and hoped that everyone would eventually get up and have a dance as well.
Luckily for us, we have lots of talented friends that could help us out for our wedding, from the invites, to the photographers, flowers, hair and makeup. So the whole process of organising the wedding was a really laid-back, fun process and a great way to support our friends in their businesses. Johnny was happy to take a back seat role in organising the wedding, but his main job for the wedding was doing the music for the day (he spent weeks fine tuning his playlists). Everyone ended up dancing the night away, so his weeks of work paid off. It was the best day of our lives. It was such a perfect day filled with lots of love, laughter, family and friends. We couldn’t have asked for anything better and wish we could do the day all over again!
