Royal Hawaiian Wedding by Mike Clarke Photography

This bride always dreamed of celebrating her wedding in a pretty pink palace fit for a princess, and the Royal Hawaiian fit the bill down to the very last p. The name of the reception venue alone describes the big day – regal, tropical and fit for a fairy tale. Mike Clarke was on hand to capture all the elegant fairy tale essentials – complete with a dove release – and the modern princess bride’s glass slippers, Christian Louboutins, of course. We know we had you at pink palace, so here is all the rest of the royal jubilee in the FULL gallery!

From the Bride…Like many young girls, I had dreamed of what my wedding would be like for as long as I could remember. But when Floyd proposed and the actual planning began, I was completely overwhelmed with what was in store for me. I took on the challenge of taking on multiple roles at once (first time mother of a newborn, bride-to-be, and a wedding planner). My mother does event planning as a hobby but she gave me her blessing by letting me take the driver seat with my own wedding but of course was always there to support my decisions and offer her creative ideas as well. Being that my mother spent much of her time planning other people’s weddings, I was surrounded with bridal magazines. I had tons of ideas and inspirations but the real test was bringing them all to life. Floyd and I wanted the day to be a celebration of our family and friends as much as us as a couple. Floyd was the type of groom that let me have my way—with limits of course. He allowed me to live out my fairytale wedding and for that I am forever grateful. Our ceremony took place at the historic St. Augustine by-the-sea in Waikiki. My parent also got married at this church and Floyd’s baccalaureate mass was celebrated here as well. We knew that we wanted to lay the ground works of our marriage at a place with so much meaning to the both of us. Our reception took place at the historic Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki on the island of O’ahu, also known as the “Pink Palace”. This was a dream of mine and from day one I knew that there would be no other choice of venue for our fairytale wedding. The Royal Hawaiian Hotel showcased Hawaii’s beauty, where we had fallen in love. Located on the shores of Waikiki beach and displaying a jaw dropping view of Diamond Head, we knew our guests would be taken cared of throughout the night.
