Ottawa’s National Art Gallery of Canada Wedding by James Paul Correia Photography

This wedding pretty much sums up every little girls fantasy and proves that you don’t need the words prince or princess in front of your name to have a real Royal Wedding. These stunning images by James Paul Correia captured my heart and the jaw dropping floral designs by Iman Ibrahim fit the elegant affair perfectly. And how about the handmade brooch bouquet that the bride made herself!? Talk about w-o-w. See the full fairytale by taking yourself to view the entire gallery here!

From James Paul Correia…With no wedding coordinator, the bride put this wedding together herself; of course with the help of some of her dearest friends. It was an elegant affair inspired by The Royal Wedding last year, complete with Top Hats, Tails, and a Double Decker bus. These two met in a hostel while backpacking in Europe, so the royal aspect meant something much more to them. They went with a very classic colour scheme of blacks, whites and grays when it came to their attire and decor. The kicker of it all (in my opinion) was the hand-made DIY brooch bouquet by the bride herself. With a little online help and a couple of months time, she put together a gorgeous focal piece that will last for ages. A great splash of colour came with a traditional coptic orthodox ceremony, involving crowns and capes. A great cultural compliment to the modern backdrop for the rest of the day. After a short stroll across Canada’s Parliament, the cocktails and reception was held at the National Art Gallery of Canada. Tall ceilings and full wall windows added the majestic ambiance.

From the couple…The theme of our wedding was royal elegant. We captured that with our simplistic yet classic decor. We went with classic colors such as charcoal grey, white and blacks. These colors complement each other in such a way which embrace a soft yet bold atmosphere. Our inspiration came from the classic simplicity seen in the royal wedding. We really tried to capture the feel of royalty with a subtle twist. Our centerpieces also reflected this with our simple yet powerful arrangement over a shimmer lit vase. We held our wedding at our church, with its bright rich colors, it allowed for a very traditional feel. Our reception was held at an art gallery which provided a slightly modernized twist to our elegant theme. Our wedding day was absolute perfect and went above and beyond our expectations and our Royal Elegant theme was felt and embraced by all our wonderful guests who attended.
