Well my lovelies, we’ve tiptoed our way through another pretty week, and boy was it a pretty one here at SMP. Filled with soirees to make us sappy. But it is time for the weekend, and this one is dedicated to you Mom. To all you Mothers of the Bride, brides-turned-mommy, and our favorite LBB Moms, we wish you a very happy day – and are crossing our fingers that it looks like a version of this table top inspiration shoot from Blüm, Design in Flowers and Jessica Hill Photography. From Blüm … Recently I’ve been so inspired by bright colors and color blocking that I wanted to create a table for a bridal event that evokes those looks. The bright reds and fuchsias are so vibrant and they really pop against an entirely white background including the white chairs, linens, place settings, vases and paper floral backdrop. To keep the look classic and feminine (as opposed to “90’s modern”) I used really soft, round flowers such as garden roses, ranunculus and anemones.
We also created a backdrop of oversized paper rosettes and magnolias in shades of pearl, white and cream to mimic the shape of the flowers in the centerpieces. This backdrop would also work beautifully as a ceremony backdrop. Miniature paper magnolias were set on each place setting as a way to pull the two looks together.
And because two looks is always better than one, we also shot the look using today’s uber popular soft shades of peach, pale pink and sage green and featured those arrangements in mercury glass containers. The look is soft and sweet compared to the “poppy” bright look. Votive candles pulled the whole look together!
